Developed with the Farm Carbon Cutting Toolkit, this agricultural carbon calculator originally used over 100 university studies from over the world for its data. It takes into account the biological activity in the soil, which contributes more to farm CO2 emissions than the transportation of food. Correctly managed agriculture can produce top quality food while sequestering massive amounts of CO2 (up to 1/3rd of current global anthropogenic output according to the IPCC). So once humanity has cut its CO2 emissions to net zero, agriculture will be used to draw down atmospheric CO2 levels back to safe levels.
